Product Review: 1.M.R By BPI
BY EVAN CLARK, NSCA-CPT
One more rep? More like two more reps! Let me start by saying that I’m pretty peeved at BPI. I found their naming of this product to be deceitful and misleading. After taking 1.M.R I was not only able to do one more repetition, but at least a few more. In fact, I think that 1.M.S (One More Set) or 5.M.R would have been more appropriate names. I mean seriously, BPI is underselling this stuff! It’s outstanding! Let's get into the details.
PROS
Focus:
The mental focus I harnessed after taking 1.M.R was the biggest selling point for me. A flock of manatees could have been cruising around the gym and I would not have noticed. All I cared about was picking things up very fast and then putting them down very slow. 1.M.R made it easy to concentrate on every muscle contracting and stretching; it was fantastic. Every time I took 1.M.R I would crank up that angry rap and metal and start cranking up the weights. A two-minute wait for the squat rack felt like an hour! During one workout, I was jumping up and down, jogging around waiting for the rack and I didn’t even notice. My workout partner Perry told me I was being an impatient-jagaloon and I had to check myself before I wrecked myself (that was a lame joke I know).
Energy/Endurance:
SOLID. I definitely had energy to spare. 5-10 minutes after taking it I could feel that beta-alanine making my skin tingle. This just fueled the fire even more when the real energy kicked in. The best part about the energy blend in 1.M.R was that I was still feeling energetic by the end of a long, grueling workout.
CONS
Taste:
Fruit Punch was not my favorite flavor, but since this stuff is ultra concentrated and only required 4-6 oz. of water it wasn't a game changer for me.
Name:
As stated previously, the focus/energy combo was enough for more than an extra rep. I respect BPI for taking a humble approach on this one.
